Local Schools enter Young Enterprise competition
Teams from local schools competing in this year’s Young Enterprise competition, recently set up shop in The Orchard Centre, Taunton to sell their products and tell shoppers about their businesses. Three very different companies took part in the day, making good use of the space kindly donated by The Orchard Centre.

Skill Up West Somerset
Skill Up is a project to support the community and businesses in West Somerset with their skills and Apprenticeship journey.
The service can be accessed via an online portal, www.skillupws.org.uk , which introduces Skill Up and provides information on Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Skills. The site signposts to opportunities, vacancies and information that may be of benefit. The portal also introduces the Skill Up team, who are there to help, and gives details of how to contact them.

Digital skills opportunity for 10 -13 years olds - #TechSheCan
PWC have developed the #TechSheCan charter to change the tide and inspire more girls to think about technology careers in a different light. The #TechWeCan program is based on interviews with 2000 A’ level Students which found that whereas 62% of males would consider a career in tech, only 27 % of females had. Furthermore only 16% of females had technology suggested to them as a career compared to 33% of males.
