Young Apprenticeship Ambassador Network - South West
Congratulations to the Young Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (YAAN) in the South West region. Launched during National Apprenticeship Week 2018, we have achieved a great deal in our first year and we are just getting going! We would like to share our goals and some highlights from our inaugural year.
The Young Apprentice Ambassador Network is a nationwide community of 700 inspiring, driven apprentices and former apprentices who promote apprenticeships to young people and their career influencers. With over 70 young Apprentice Ambassadors in the South West we endorse the range of subjects, benefits, progression routes and extensive career opportunities apprenticeships provide. More than 70% of our members have completed a one day accredited training course. Working in partnership with both the Careers and Enterprise Company and Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge organisations we are now visiting schools and careers events to ‘share our apprenticeship story’. Having the opportunity to talk to young people really increases our passion for apprenticeships, develops our presentation skill`s and provides us with confidence for our own personal development.
We helped organise 50 + events in the South West during NAW2019 including awards ceremonies, work based challenges and project work in the community. Our social media campaign made c50,000 impressions using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. But our membership and work needs to grow. We really want to reach out to the widest audience and shout about apprenticeships.
So, if you are between 18 and 26 years old you should visit our website to find out more about becoming a Young Ambassador.
