Palmer Gardens Trowbridge Supported Internship

Working Futures & Shaw Trust: Palmer Gardens, Trowbridge are thrilled to be working in collaboration to offer a Supported Internship from September 2024.

This course is designed for individuals with SEND and who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) aged up to 19 years old.

The programme runs 5 days per week, Monday – Friday, term time only, 6 hours per day. Four days are based at Palmer Gardens, Trowbridge and one day per week (Wednesday) is based in Frome with a profoundly personalised teaching delivered by SEND experienced staff.

The collaborative programme between Working Futures & Palmer Gardens will support young people with an EHCP to prepare them for employment.  Each young person will complete a rotation of work placements within Palmer Gardens, which will allow them to gain essential employability skills alongside developing their Functional Mathematics and English skills and working towards profoundly personalised targets.

This course will provide young people with the opportunity to:

  • Develop their readiness for employment further
  • Enhance their knowledge and skills in the workplace
  • Support their growth to gain paid employment.
  • Become more independent
  • Build confidence and self- esteem
  • Develop key functional Mathematics & English skills
  • Make progress towards outcomes within their EHCPs.

  • Horticulture Skills
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Catering and Hospitality
  • Knowledge Sessions
