Quality Construction Training in Somerset

Train4All is a private training provider with skills centres in Somerton, Somerset and more recently a second centre has opened in South Molton in North Devon. Train4All offer a range of opportunities for those that want to develop a career within the Construction Industry and are often described as ‘a stepping stone’ between school and employment.

A number of programmes are offered at the centres, accommodating learners from the age of 14;

  • Key Stage 4: The Key Stage 4 schools programme provides a vocational strand to complement a young person's education. This is a practical course that includes a Level 1 construction qualification and work experience. Many young learners that have attended the centre have completed 2 years of practical training and then progressed successfully onto a trade apprenticeship with an employer.
  • Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Programme: This popular programme lasts between 12 and 26 weeks and is for those that are not quite ready to enter the world of work. The programme includes the City & Guilds Level 1 Construction Award, employability skills, Health & Safety tickets and a valuable work experience placement with a construction employer. At the end of the programme or when a learner is ready, they progress onto a full trade apprenticeship or gain full time employment.
  • Young Employee programme: This programme lasts between 12 and 26 weeks and is for those that are not quite ready to enter the world of work. The programme includes communication and customer service skills, employability awards, Health & Safety knowledge and a valuable work experience placement with a relevant employer within an industry the learner is interested in. At the end of the programme or when a learner is ready, progression can be onto a full apprenticeship or full time employment.
  • Trade Apprenticeships: Programmes last between 12 and 24 months and are available in subjects such as Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plumbing, Property Maintenance and from September 2020 Electrical. Delivery is via block release at one of our skills centres and includes practical training within the workshops in preparation for an externally assessed End Point Assessment in order to achieve.

In addition to the above courses, Train4All offer programmes for the unemployed, those leaving the armed forces and bespoke training packages for employers.

All of the programmes are delivered by vocational experts who enthuse young people in a supportive and relaxed environment. Train4All is an ideal setting for those learners who feel daunted by attending a large FE college as all programmes are delivered in small groups of no more than 12 with one-to-one delivery also being available should a learner require additional support. Every learner at Train4All progresses at their own pace in order to achieve their individual goals, whatever they may be.
