Celebrating the Supported Employment community at the Imagine the Possibilities Awards 2024!
The winners of the Imagine the Possibilities Awards 2024 were revealed yesterday at an awards celebration event held at Yeovil College.
The awards recognised the fantastic employers who are harnessing the power of Supported Employment to benefit their businesses - and the dedicated and ambitious young people who are their supported employees, interns and trainees.
The ceremony was attended by over 80 guests, including students from special schools across the county, who had taken part in a Youth Voice event earlier in the day where they shared presentations on the Supported Internship offers available in Somerset.
Dr Julie Young, Careers and Pathways Advisor at Somerset Council said,
“The morning was a great opportunity to meet the Supported Interns of the future, hear about their aspirations and let them know about the exciting futures in Somerset that are within their grasp.”
The award finalists included employers from a wide range of industries including nuclear, healthcare and retail and young people working in sectors such as hospitality, logistics and technology.
As citations were shared from each of the finalist’s award nominations, it was clear that choosing the winners could not have been an easy task. The winners of the two award categories were announced as:
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and The Project Search Team
Supported Employment Employer of the Year
Joe Bryant, Somerset Larder
Supported Employee of the Year
Julie Walker, Sen.se Executive Officer said,
“Witnessing the success of supported internships was a poignant moment, and I felt immense pride as I announced the winners of the Supported Employment Employer and Employee of the Year. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists of the Imagine the Possibilities Awards 2024!
