Bridgwater & Taunton College announces Apprentice Chef of the Year 2018
The three finalists, Nathan Woodhead of Combe House Hotel in Holford, David Dickson of Somerset Larder and Jade Sumption of Duets Restaurant in Weston, all apprentice commis chefs, were asked to produce a three course mean for judges as the Apprentice Chef of the Year final held at Bridgwater and Taunton College’s Quantock Restaurant.
The restaurant, officially opened early 2018 by Mary Berry, was packed full of supportive family and friends, who also had the chance to sample the tasty treats cooked up at the event.
Jason Gunningham, assistant principal for land-based, sport and foundation studies, said:
“The food they produced was exceptional, visually appealing, refined…They are all a credit to the organisations they represent and an inspiration to anyone wanting to work in the hospitality industry as a chef in the future.”
