About the Organisation
The British Army is the land branch of the British Armed Forces. They are responsible for lots of things like supporting peacekeeping and humanitarian work around the world, training Soldiers and Officers, and working to maintain global and national security.
They’re also one of the largest providers of apprenticeships in the country. There are over 13,000 people on one of their apprenticeship programmes at any one time. The British Army is the number 1 Apprenticeship Employer across the UK and Northern Ireland, offering over 40 different apprenticeships, ranging across 7 different career streams, including:

- HR & Finance
- Logistics & Supply
- Combat

Careers Activities & Information
Elite Skills Academy
Get stuck in with the Army Outreach Team. This workshop gives students a taste of Army teamwork and problem solving, with a wide range of hands on and confidence building activities.
Elite Skills Academy is suitable students aged 14 to 18 years old. Up to 60 students can take part in the 1 - 2 hour sessions. Different classes can rotate through the Elite Skills Academy throughout the school day; 5 sequential workshops will work with up to 300 students. The Elite Skills Academy is full of challenging tasks that develop mental and physical attributes.
A careers presentation is included to contextualise the day's experiences within the Army workplace.
Careers Presentation
Book your local Army Careers Centre to deliver an interactive careers presentation to your students or job seekers, or set up a stall at a careers fair. You can also book the Army to deliver a team building workshop, or sign-up your students for work experience placements.
Work Experience With A Difference
Students keen to explore careers in the Army can book onto their four-day residential work experience. For 14-18 year olds, the programme develops teamwork, leadership, confidence and resilience.
This is a great way for students to get a taste of Army life and fully appreciate the wealth of career opportunities.
